The holidays are a very eventful time of year.
There are parties to plan and gifts to buy. It is a time of family gatherings and running every which way, which means there is also a lot of money to spend. Each of these will stretch a relationship, but there are two things that are major reasons for breaking up during the holidays.
- Money is not the root of all evil, but it is one of the top reasons for divorce under normal circumstances. If there are financial issues in your relationship already, they will be even more pronounced during the holidays.
- Add everything together about the holidays and you end up with stress. Stress can get to the best of us, and, unfortunately, sometimes a person’s partner is the easiest target to let that stress loose. Unhealthy ways of dealing with stress like; getting angry, overindulging in alcohol, distancing yourself, etc. will not help a relationship. And it likely could end it.
