Are you tired of making resolutions that never come true?
The problem with resolutions is that they cause stress.
You make resolutions with the intention to accomplish them. But, when you don’t, you feel guilty and stop believing in yourself. It’s time to get rid of resolutions all-together and, instead, create a strategic vision for your future. Where do you want to be at the end of the year, what do you want to be to say that you can’t say now?
Be positive. Don’t say “quit smoking;” say “live a smoke-free life.” Don’t say “lose weight;” say “eat healthier and work out more.” And once you have your strategic vision, decide the steps you will take over the year to accomplish it. What is the first step? What can you do now to take one small step to reach your vision? Don’t throw away all the junk food and buy a refrigerator full of vegetables. Instead, start with one meal or a snack. Change one thing from junk food to healthy food. Small steps create small successes. And every small success helps your self-confidence in knowing that you can do it.
