Friendships are easy to maintain, for extroverts. But we introverts have a more difficult time keeping in touch with people.
We concentrate on our day, enjoy our quiet time, and simply don’t think about it for a while. Then we become anxious trying to figure out what to say. Here are some tips for introverts to keep in contact with friends:
- Just say hi. This is especially effective if your friend is an extrovert. You say hi, they fill in everything else. But even if they are introverts, they want to hear from you.
- Schedule it. Set a reminder to call certain friends at certain times. Put phone calls (for your extrovert friends) or emails (for your introvert friends) on your calendar so you don’t forget.
- Forgive yourself. Your friends will forgive you if it’s been some time. Forgive yourself for not contacting them sooner.
